Department of Physics and Astronomy, EMU, a member of the
American Physical
Society (APS) and a member of Federal Society of
Coatings Technology (FSCT). He obtained his BS and MS degree in physics
from Fudan
University , China, in 1968 and 1982, respectively, and
obtained his Ph.D. degree from
Wayne State University , MI,
in 1988. Before he joined Eastern Michigan University, he worked in
Truman State
University from 1988 to 1991.

-
Dr. Xiaomei Wu is a research associate in the
surface science laboratory. She obtained her Ph.D. from
Fudan University, China, in 2001.
She uses a Localized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscope (LEIS) to
study the corrosion mechanism of metals covered by multilayered
coatings.

- Eva Montalvo is a lecturer and researcher at EMU. She received a MS from EMU in Physics
Research in 2004 and currently teaches several credit hours of
classes here each semester. She is working on the LEIS project with Dr.
Wu as well as the Nano Indenter XP with Jeremy.

- Rene Crombez is a Masters candidate at EMU and works full time in
the lab as a research associate.

- Jeremy McMinis has a bachelors degree in Economics from
New College of Florida but has
returned to his first love, physics. He is a National Merit finalist and
has won numerous awards and scholarships in the EMU physics department.
He is interested in all fields of physics and hopes to go get a Ph.D. in
