Where are the stars?  Why are they disappearing?

Notice the approaching clouds in this image?  You shouldn't be able to see clouds like this at night!
Look at how much wasted energy is reaching thousand of feet above in this typical suburban view all because of
pitiful lighting practices and carelessly aimed lights.   Click on the picture to learn more about light pollution.
