The Magic School Bus Sees Stars

The class decides to buy a star for a friend for her birthday. One student said she didn’t want to pay for anything she hadn’t seen, so Ms. Frizzle takes the class to the stars. The first thing the class learns is that the sun is really a star. The class also learns about the length of star lives. They find a young "baby" star in a cloud of dust and gas. Next they find a "middle-aged" star. It was perfect for a present, but someone had bought it just before the kids. The last star they see is a really big and old star. They decide to buy it. Ms. Frizzle takes out the sneakapeekatron and the class is able to see into the star. They see that it is collapsing! The star explodes! All that is left is a cloud of dust and gas. The class remembers that this is the perfect condition for baby stars to be born. The Magic School Bus speeds up that star-forming process and the class is able to give their friend a baby star.
