| The main idea of the book is to show the different processes that go on inside a volcano and the evidence that indicates the presence of a volcano. The different processes include the heating of rock until it is liquid; the build-up of pressure inside the volcano; the release of the pressure by the eruption of the volcano. The evidence that a volcano exists underwater includes the shape of the hill containing the volcano; the steam escaping from volcano vents; and the lava during the eruption. Also, from a social viewpoint, the story points out that there is more than one way to learn and do things, and that one should learn to learn and do things in different ways. | |
