PHY 221 is the first semester of a two-semester introductory course in college-level physics. It is assumed that you have mathematics preparation through college algebra and trigonometry. You will learn new concepts about how objects move and interact. You will learn how to apply basic prinicples and concepts to obtain solutions to a variety of problems in the above mentioned areas. The problems you will be asked to solve on quizzes and tests will be similar to, but not identical to, those found in your text, discussed in class or laboratory and found on your homework. You will also be asked to demonstrate your understanding and comprehension of various principles and concepts by answering non-mathematical questions in a variety of formats.
