Fish Lake Fall Term Trip
October 15-17, 2004
We had hopes that one of two nights would clear off but, alas, nothing doing. That's the same hope we began with for the October 2003 trip. The best mother nature would come up with were some hit or miss clearings (affectionately referred to as "sucker holes" in the astronomy biz) that allowed some tantalizing views through hastily set up Dobsonian scopes one night. Rain/snow prevailed for much of the weekend- note the picture of Jeremiah and Jack scurrying through a downpour. Still, folks enjoyed the fall colors as usual and relaxed around the fireplace, chatted over a friendly game of cards or Monopoly, and even managed a hike or two through the woods with Kevin Dehne to the wood chip pile for a color tour. Some rockets even made it off the launch pad on the hill. Note the smiling faces below....
