EMU Astronomy Club at Fish Lake (KEEC)

The EMU Astronomy Club utilizes the University's KEEC as a remote site for observational astronomy where we can get away from the glare of city lights. The facility has a modern, comfortable 60 person dorm with beds, showers, and a central fire place. A versatile kitchen area with a lovely beamed ceiling serves as dining room and as an activity center when night observations are ongoing. Meals are served cafeteria-style. KEEC's 240 acres contains nature trails, a lake, pond, forests, glacial moraines and bogs. The property is additionally surrounded by the Lapeer State Game Area, located 5 miles northeast of Lapeer, MI. Fish Lake is a wonderful weekend "getaway".
