Astronomy Club 20th Anniversary
Reunion
April 4, 1998
The EMU Astronomy Club celebrated 20 years of activities
at Sherzer Observatory on the evening of April 4, 1998. Club
members Kim Strickland and Heather Tarvis arranged dinner plans at a local
restaurant followed by a reception and activities in the new facilities
at Sherzer Observatory. They also assembled a memory booklet, purchased
a name plaque noting club presidents over the years, and presented mock
awards in a variety of catagories.
Club members past and present brought stories,
pictures, and friendship to share. Some travelled in from as far
as Maine, Illinois, and Cincinnati, Ohio to be with us (thanks!).
The weather was crisp but exceptionally clear with a lovely quarter moon
which help extend observing and comradery well into the wee hours of the
morning. Fun was had by all!
