What constitutes
plagiarism? While formal definitions are easy to come by, the practical
application of a definition is often subtle. Following a brief presentation
of background material, we will discuss plagiarism, particularly as it
applies to physics papers and lab reports. Thegoal will be to understand
how to avoid accidental plagiarism while writing papers and how to recognize
plagiarism while grading papers.
