| This talk is
derived from my U of M Master's Thesis in which International Ultra-Violet
Explorer (IUE) Lyman-alpha observations of comets Bradfield (1979X) and
Austin (1990v) are compared with Bright values generated by the Monte Carlo
Trajectory Model (MCPTM) created by Dr. Michael Combi and Dr. Paul Feldman.
In order to prove the success of the model, conclusions published in a
paper by M.A. McGrath and J.T. Clarke [1] about the 22 year cycle of solar
Lyman-alpha had to be incorporated. Thus the success of the MCPTM
in reproducing IUE Lyman-alpha also corroborated the results of McGrath
and Clarke.
