Delivering
the Physics Pizza -- Eaten, but is it Being Digested?
|
|
Description
|
It
requires some amount of time to digest pizza as well as physics.
Although it is difficult to know precisely how eating a pizza changes a
person, it is a somewhat easier task to determine if Newtonian concepts
have been digested and incorporated into a student's thinking. I'll
present an overview of an assessment test that is advertised as measuring
a student's concept of force and the results from administering this test
to the present students in the PHY 223 course. I'll then discuss
certain aspects of the test results which may point out strategies for
aiding "physics digestion".
