he will make at the Graduate Research Fair. This presentation focuses
on the investigation of corrosion mechanisms.
Abstract:
Studying Corrosion using
Localized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy
Corrsion has drawn great
attention due to its enormous economic impact and has been a research topic
for many decades. Although progress has been made, we are still far
from total control of it, as the underlying phenomena have not been completely
understood. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful
tool for the study of corrosion that utilizes th eelectrochemical nature
of the process. Using a newly developed Localized EIS, Mr. Distelzweig
works on a project of Investigation of Corrosion in Micro and Nano Scale,
sponsored by the Army Research Laboratory. He will discuss the new
technique and the progress we have made.
