Study of
X0
Decays for an Improved Lifetime Measurement with KTeV
|
|
Description
|
Utilizing
the Tevatron accelerator at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory,
a University of Chicago research group is conducting an ongoing fixed target
experiment, KTeV. Designed mainly to study CP violation, this experiment
also makes it possible to study high momentum neutral hyperons. For
a summer research project, I analyzed hyperon data from KTeV/E799 phase
to determine an improved lifetime for the decay X0
--> L
+ P0
with acceptance corrections.
