Mr. Joseph Lowry
Wireless Communications, from cell phones to WAP
Description
Last year the number of cell phones exceeded the number of landline phones. Love them or hate them, cell phones are everywhere; but how do they work? Mr. Lowry will share with you what he has learned about wireless communications devices. He will also show you demonstrations that are currently being used in local high schools to teach physics using cell phones and wireless technology. He learned about these examples of physics in every day life at the annual national AAPT meeting that was held this summer in Salt Lake City, Utah.
