Group Activity
Physics and Society: Energy Futures for the United States
Description
As was made clear on August 14, 2003, the daily functioning of our society depends critically on the steady availability of energy, whether in the form of electricity or material fuel.  The cost of gasoline increased significantly this year, as has the cost of a barrel of oil.  Whether we attribute these increases to the action of a monopoly or to the law of supply and demand, we are still left with the reality that we are dependent on energy.

In this group activity, we will explore how we can maintain our quality of life -- as characterized by per capita energy use -- throughout the lifetimes of children born today.  Please join us!
