Scattering Cross Sections for H2 Using Gaussian
Description
The scattering of electrons and positrons in gaseous environments has improtant applications to many areas of basic and applied physics.  Theoretical calculations of scattering cross sections performed at EMU have thus far been for atomic gases only.  In order to help extend this work to molecular gases, I have investigated how data from a commercially available software program called GAUSSIAN can be generated and converted into a form that is appropriate for use in calculating cross sections for the scattering of electrons and positrons in molecular gases.  The method will be illustrated using molecular hydrogen as the target molecule.
